The daily tasks and responsibilities that others seem to manage easily are completely overwhelming for you. Even things you used to enjoy feel like a chore these days. 

It’s hard to remember the last time you got a good night’s sleep. Mostly, you lie awake at night—thoughts racing a mile a minute—and dread the inevitability of your alarm going off in the morning.

You start the day already tired and struggle to resist staying in bed and scrolling your phone, avoiding everything you know you need to do. In our early sessions, I’ll get to know you and learn a bit about what you’d like to get out of therapy. No need to show up with a brave face on, I’m here to listen no matter how you’re feeling at the moment. 

We’ll work together to gain insight into the ideas you have about yourself and meet anxious thoughts with curiosity. Then, we’ll be able to shift those thoughts and ideas in a direction that’s more rooted in reality. In other words, you’ll know the difference between the sound of a fire alarm going off in your head and the sound it makes when you just need to replace the batteries. And you’ll have all the tools you’ll need to “replace the batteries” if that’s the case.
